The frogs in France make strange noises

The farm I’ve been babysitting for the past month has a very small man-made pond in back. The pond is roughly the size and shape of a swimming pool yet is home to an incredible number of frogs.

They sing pretty much 24 hours a day. Frogs in France sound utterly unlike any other frogs I’ve ever heard. Have a look and give a listen.

French Frogs

I’ve heard the sound described as monkeys, sheep and various other animals.

The audio file was captured by me just holding my phone up near the pond and recording a series of voice memos. That means you may hear some wind noise, birds chirping, the dogs investigating what I was doing, etc.
