Swimming in the rain
It rains every day in the tropics. At least it does in Ecuador at this time of year.
Usually, the rains come at night or in the early morning hours. And it’s that kind of warm, soft rain that makes you want to sit up in bed and just listen. When it’s in the morning, it has the added benefit of songbirds layered over top of the raindrops.
Today it poured buckets. Right in the middle of the afternoon. For over an hour.
I got in the swimming pool.
It’s actually long been one of those weird bucket list items for me to go swimming during a really hard rain. I had been swimming before and had it start raining while I was swimming. But this was the first time I made the conscious decision to go out and start swimming while it was already pouring outside.
It was glorious.
