Snoopy vs. The Red Baron

Although Joseph is a small town in a relatively remote area and has only a small airfield, they drew a surprising number of planes. Including four old WWI biplanes.

Despite what was supposed to be a formation fly-by of F-15 fighter jets from the Oregon Air National Guard, it was the biplane aerial dogfights that really stole the show.

(On the morning of the airshow, the Air National Guard announced that they were only sending two F-15s and not a whole formation. When the time came, they actually sent only one. That plane whizzed past at least 1,000 feet up then promptly flew away. Most of us hardly even got to see it.)

By contrast, the biplanes held prolonged mock dogfights at low altitude, circling the airfield many times.
