Better Than a Hotel
Are you familiar with AirBNB? It’s an online service for peer-to-peer lodging rentals.
Say you have a house or apartment that’s sitting vacant, or a guest room or even just a couch. You can list it and travelers looking for a place to stay might rent it from you.
I have rented many accommodations this way on AirBNB. So far, I have yet to have a bad experience.
The worst was a rather run-down basement that had been converted into an extra bedroom but the woman who listed it was up front and honest about it and she had pictures of the room posted. In that case I knew what I was getting and I got what I expected. She was also super sweet and went out of her way to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable.
Most of the time, I have stayed in beautiful homes. Much nicer than any hotel and usually cheaper than even mid-range hotels. For less than the price of a room at a place like Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn, I have been able to get an entire four-bedroom home and have food provided.
Every place will be different but AirBNB is always the first place I check for accommodations when I travel. You absolutely owe it to yourself to check it out.
