Bayou la Batre

I read the book Forrest Gump long before it was made into a movie.

These days I like the movie but when it first came out, I despised it. Forrest went through so many more adventures in the book. It was much more of a farce. I felt outraged at all the adventures that got left out.

Eventually, I made peace with it and even came to see that it wouldn’t have been practical to put everything into the movie.

Nonetheless, when I found out my chosen hiding place to camp out for winter was less than 50 miles from the fictional Bubba’s hometown, there was no way I could not go see it.
