All four seasons in a single day

Quito, Ecuador lies nestled in a mountain valley in the Andes Mountains.

Because it lies almost exactly on the equator, it can sometimes get rather hot during the days. It typically never gets hotter than about 80°F, but it can go higher on unusually hot days.

Because it’s high in the mountains, at night it generally drops to the mid-40s. On especially cool nights it can get down to freezing.

Both of these things frequently happen in the same 24 hour period.

In between, especially in the mornings, there can be crisp Fall temperatures in the 50s or 60s.

On occasional afternoons, there will be Spring showers.

So for those who say they could never move to the tropics because they like the change of seasons, give Quito a try.
