Who started this insane tradition?
In the alleyway that serves as the back entrance to Seattle’s famous Pike Place Market, is the equally famous “gum wall”. Actually several walls along about 50′ of the alley , the gum walls are literally covered with thousands upon thousands of pieces of old chewing gum.
Some are artistic. Most are just stuck on. Ultimately, it is the collective mass of all the gum that makes the whole place somewhat of an artistic icon.
