How can we book travel for free?

We sometimes get asked how we can plan and book travel for free. People think there must be a catch.

Truthfully, there is but it’s the exact same catch you get from sites like Expedia, Travelocity and Orbitz. How do you think they make their money?

It’s easy. The travel industry pays them! And they pay us too!

Every flight you book, every hotel stay, every car rental and even many attractions like theme park passes or guided tours, they all include a built-in commission. When you buy any of them, one of several things will happen:

  • If you book through a site like Orbitz or Expedia, they collect the commission but you do all the work.
  • If you book through a travel agent (like us!), we collect the commission but we do most of the work for you.
  • If you book with each airline, hotel and car rental agency directly, they keep the commission as extra profit.

There are basically no scenarios where the commission isn’t factored in. Even if they offer you a discount, they’re still making a profit and simply agreeing to kick part of the commission back to you. That’s why their prices never vary by more than a few dollars for the same flight or hotel.

So by booking with us, you’ll get the same choices and options as any of the big travel sites but we’ll do all the hard, annoying work of finding the deals for you. All for the very same price as you’d get with them!

Pretty sweet, right?
